GGG Eotech flip ups--Don't seem to fit

I saw someone on here post a picture of an Eotech with flip up covers, turns out GG and G makes a rubber and plastic retro unit.

Well, I wrestled with it for about a half hour today, it seems to be too short ot too tight a fit.

Anyone else have one care to share any tips?

I mean, I built the FAL it sits on, but I can't figure out a set of flip up lens caps.

    Help. Please.

        OK, problem solved.

Mine is an older model, and the fip ups indeed do not fit, so I need a later model aluminum protective cover.

Ive got one and it fits perfect too, although opening and closing the caps seems to take alot of force, are yours also hard to open and close?
