I ordered this scope last night and was wondering if anyone here has one and what they think of it. I read a lot of reviews on it and it seemed like a good deal. Please let me know what you all think of it.

i have 2. i would say it is just kinda big in comparison to the Mark AR 1-4x, but it has click turrets which the Mark AR doesnt. I prefer the mark ar because of its weight and size but i prefer the nikon because of its turrets. glass and light seem the same for me.Pennys Dad

The M223 with the BDC 600 reticle is a great scope! You can be very accurate with that reticle even if you do not shoot the a 55 grain bullet at 32450 fps. Make sure you check out the Spot On website:

I used to own one. At the price point, the glass is kind of amazing. The BDC reticle is cool but I prefer mil-dots but thats just me. It's a well made scope for the price and if I didn't go nuts and replace it with a Nightforce, I'm sure i'd still be quite happy with it.Comment

I can agree with Chase, the M-223 3-12x42 BDC is one of my favorite scopes. That being said, I love blasting steel with my M-223 1-4 Point Blank Reticle. Zero it at 100 yards and you are pretty much dead on at 200. The 3 MOA dot makes target acquistion quick and easy. My family likes it so much they had me get one for a Smith and Wesson M&P 14-22.
Also as Chase said and I know he has first hand knowledge of it, Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program will help you get dialed in especially if you choose a different grain bullet or MV.

Bart, does the BDC reticle do okay with trying to achieve tight groups? Or is the Nikoplex significantly finer and better for that?Reloaders: Stay safe, even the things you don't see may bite you. Read more here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=495909Comment

I am considering buying this scope, or the Nikoplex version. I am looking for a versatile optic/scope for my AR. I have a 16" and am mainly range shooting, mainly between 50-150, 200 yards. Is this more than I need for that? I do like that it would let me go father VS a Primary Arms 3x Compact Scope, which I am also considering.

It would be an ideal choice for you. I've shot everywhere from 25 yards with the 1-4 M223 on a M&P 15/22 to 100 yards and then 50 yards out to 600 with the 3-12. Even though most shots around here, in good old Illinois, are no further than 300 yards i went with the 3-12. I loved that I could really stretch the distance out when I needed for target.I am considering buying this scope, or the Nikoplex version. I am looking for a versatile optic/scope for my AR. Matching your load with Spot On will give you perfect holdovers at whatever zero and distance you'll be shooting, so if you're usually within 50-200 you'll have all the scope dope you'll need for it.

I went to the web sight to use the "Spot on" with the M223 for custom turrets and it did not have any options for the m223 scope in the drop down menus, I had seen the nikon videos saying you could get custom turrets for different loads for the m223 scopes.. It gives you all the info for the BDC stuff though.. Is there something I am missing? Also when is the M308 coming out for sale?Try out a AppleSeed... http://www.appleseedinfo.org/

There's a slew of new scopes coming out from Nikon. M-308, P-223's, and a higher mag M-223.
I'd really like to know when these are coming out, also.Reloaders: Stay safe, even the things you don't see may bite you. Read more here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=495909Comment
