Looking for a red dot for a Pistol

I'm looking at putting a red dot on a Ruger .44 mag Super Redhawk.

I've seen some full length rails, and think they are kinda ugly.

This is for a shooter with poor eye sight, so I'm thinking a circle with a dot inside of it.

Pistol is S.S. so a silver scope is preferred, but not a deal breaker.

Anyone have a solution?

Great. I have 1 for over 10 years and never had a problem. Personally I prefer AimPoint for their durability & power mgmt (CompM2,3,4) but UltraDot in my opinion is the best kept secret at any price.

I know for a while Bullseye shooters prefer UltraDot. here is some info for you.

I also looked at Burris FastFire II, Docter and UltraDot L/T. Again UltraDot came up to the top in terms of function and price.

FastFire requires sight removal to replace battery where UltraDot L/T has a swing-out battery compartment. Fastfire requires a separate mount and UltraDot has Weaver mount built-in and sits lower.

For the price the Burris is a great little sight. I prefer the Leupold Delta point.

The Bushnell TRS is also a great sight! It is surprisingly durable. You will just need a picatinny or weaver style rail adapter on your Super Redhawk.

I started a thread a lil bit back about mounting a similar dot to my SW 629 .44 mag.

the fast fire and Leupold were the two that came up in a decent price range. there are eothech ones out that are more expensive.

let us know what you get and it may help me figure out the one for me.

The guys on cast bullets swear by ultradots for their 50 cal revolvers. I trust their opinions and experience.

Apparently, military shooters also use the Ultradot 30. It's at the top of your budget, but it's what will get you there.

You'll have to blow out your budget (I think $220?) to get dot in circle from ultradot. But the UD30 is about in the budget.

I put a Burris fastfie on my Draco & love it, holds zero, works great, bright dot in full sun. Granted not your typical pistol

Take into account the sizes of the dots, in relation to what you are shooting at, and the distances you are shooting at.

If you do consider the Deltapoint, as suggested, it is offered in a 3.5MOA dot, or a 7.5MOA triangle.

The ultradot guys have no problems making 44 caliber holes that touch at 50 yards with a 4MOA dot. You can get a UD30 in silver.
