    Dot scope question?

I recently baught a red dot scope for my rifle. Im curious as what the numbers on the box mean when it says 57 feet @ 100 yards. I am used to using the standard front and rear sights for my a3 rail system and I am new to these dot scopes. Do I use my front sight in conjuction with my dot or is the standard sight system of no use when using the dot scope? any info would be great.

It means your field of vision @ 100 yards is 57 feet wide
If you fly the Stars & Stripes outside of your house, stand up and take your hat off(or salute) when the National Anthem is played, we'll probably get along just fine...

If the sight is not magnified you can use it to co-witness with yoru front sight. You will just have to be sure the heights are lined up. the Height of a standard AR sight is 1.5'', so you want the dot/reticle of your sight at that same heigh or just a little higher. You sometimes need a riser to make this work or a higher ring if it is a tubbe style sight.
