when OK scopes go bad

do scopes go bad? well for about 3 1/2 years i have owned a millet trs. which has worked out pretty good on my varmit ar. but the other day i had took it to the range and i would not hold zero for the life of me.which is weird cuz it worked flawless the previous time i took it out. well like i said do scopes go bad? can they be repaired? this is the only scoped rifle i own everything else i use irons.

Yes scopes go down. Even high dollar scopes can go down. Can it be repaired? Depends on the warranty. That's were it pays to put a little more money into a scope. Scopes like Vortex, NightForce, US Optics, and Schmidt & Bender all have a almost unconditional warranty.

Also take a look at the mounts. Sometimes they can come loose and even a slight loosening of one screw can throw the POI all over the place.
