    Vortex Sparc Parallax error

In the product description it says "parallax free past 50yrds, one inch error before that"

My question is, for those who have the red dot is, so just how much error have you experienced within 50 yards?

If your cheek weld is "mostly" in the same place every time, is there a problem?

Im worried about this because i had a GSG 5 with a cheapo ncstar red dot....during appleseed, i couldnt get my cheek weld exactly in the same position while in prone (the stock is too short for me) so all my shots mostly hit one inch right, up, or down. I struggled the whole time with trying to get consistent cheek weld with the gsg 5 stock while in prone.

I did not have a problem with my friends sig 522 with PA red dot but experiencing first hand the amount of difference parallax error can make....im a little paranoid. For the record, this is going on my new dedicated cmmg 22 im building. With the retractable stock, i shouldnt have any problems.... but i still would like to know how much difference it would make.

When it says less than one inch error, it shouldn't matter where you have your cheek weld, it should always be 1" from where the dot currently is relative to your view. I wouldn't worry about getting dead center everytime, just consistent groupings.

I'm confused, you're asking what the error is when the manufacturer states it's 1 inch before 50 yards?

So wouldn't the error be 1 inch?

Couple of things to keep in mind...

#1 ALL RED DOTS are not completely parallax free.

#2 Your GSG 22LR is probably not capable of holding a group to moa (1" at 100 yards) anyhow so the 1" parallax thing is the least of your concerns.

        wait...so im confused even more

I always thought that when they meant parallax error, was ONLY when the cheek weld wasnt in the same position compared to when it was sighted in.

Are you saying that if i for example sight in the red dot at 25 yards....the poi will always be off (1 inch) no matter cheek weld?

Sorry, im relatively new to shooting....

Sorry, i should have been a little more precise with my question. I guess what i meant to ask what exactly do they mean by parallax error before 50 yards. Actually...what do they mean by parallax error at all!! seems like i had a misunderstanding on the term....

          1) i have read that, but i still cant wrap my head around that.
2)hahaha definitely not! but it groups nicely at less than 50 yards .

I guess what i want to know is, using the Vortex sparc, sighted in at 50 yards or less (in this case, lets just say 25) will my POI always be one inch off, compared to my POA?
