    Troy Industries Rear Sights

I just bought one of these

I wasn't to happy with this sight. I went to flip it to the smaller aperture and noticed that the flat side is facing the shooter. This is not something that I'm used to. In the military the small aperture had the caved-in part facing the shooter. Here it's different. Does anyone know how complicated it could be to take this sight apart and flip it around.

I already called Troy and mentioned this to them. The guy I spoke with said this is the way the rear sight is designed. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok so thanks to a friend here on calguns I was able to do this swap. For those who are not too familiar with what Im talking about I'll try and explain.

Here's a picture of what the rear small aperture should look like when facing the

If you look at this next picture from Troy, you'll see that when the small aperture is up, it will have the flat side facing the shooter.

Well this change is not too difficult. I was a little upset that I had to take a $119 rear sight and modify it. All it took was an allen wrench, a flat tip screwdriver and some patience. If you have this sight you'll see the allen screw on one side of the sight and the flat tip on the other. Use your allen key and remove the screw carefully keeping your hand steady on the aperture. Once the allen screw is out, carefully turn the flat tip side until the sight itself is off of the screw it slides back and forth on. While doing this make sure you keep your eye out for two small bearings that are not interchangeable. One small bearing is right behind windage knob. The other is right under the aperture itself. Flip the sight around and re-install with a little lock tight on the allen screw. Honestly it took me less than 5 minutes. Don't try this if you don't feel comfortable messing around with $119 sight. I was upset cause for a moment I thought I lost one of the bearings.
