How about a Nikon? The Buckmasters seem nice I haven't shot out past 100 yet though with my 4-16 Bukmaster. To be honest I haven't even sighted it in. I took my Eotech out to sight in and didn't have ammo to sight her in but seems built well and mounted easily with a home boresighting.

I have a Leupold MK AR scope for sale, actually. I had it briefly on my AR and absolutely loved it. But it was kind of redundant with the same power scope on another rifle of mine, so I'm selling it to fund a red dot. It's an excellent scope; crystal clear and held zero true and true. I'm also asking a good chunk less than your $400 budget.

Got a 3-9 x 40 mark AR on my SL8. Zero problems, works great...getting close to 1 MOA groups on a good day.
