Carry Handle Question

Hi all,
I'm working on my first AR build and I want to put a carry handle on it as I really like the classic look of it. Money is a little bit of an issue for me right now and I don't want to spend 100 dollars on a carry handle if I can get one which will work just as fine for less. Does anyone have any experience with NcSTAR or Leapers? I found these online for less than 40 dollars (links to webpages below). Am I actually looking at airsoft parts, poorly made parts, or just a good deal? Any input/advice would be much appreciated. If it would be in my best interest to just invest in a more expensive carry handle I will, just let me know if thats the case. Thanks in advance for your help.

It would be one thing if it was just a handle, but because it integrates sights you're probably better off getting a proper one vs a cheap Chinese knock-off.

Step One: Go look in the For Sale forum and search carry handle sight. You might find a good deal. Also put out an APB in your signature saying you want to buy one. That's how I got a brand new one for $50 a while back.

I have a NcStar carry handle. I haggled a dealer into giving me one for free to try it out. I love it and haven't taken it off yet since. I've been hitting metal targets at 200m easily straight out of the package. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's not functional.

Yes, scan the private firearms parts for sale forum as often as you can and do searches in it for a good deal - I also found a Rock River Arms one for $50 used, retail value was $120!

Nice, I just sold an upper with one of those on it. Any chance you got it from a CHP officer?

I don't think he was CHP though, but the RRA carry handle (really can't use it as one) is really nice for my $39 Bushnell TRS-25 co-witnessing. Both the carry handle and Bushnell were made for each other due to the weird height they both have.

Yep, those things are great.I really dug the little battery compartment on it. I had big plans for the one I had until I got a bug up my butt and decided to sell that upper with the sight on it, get a different one and an ACOG instead

Now, it makes sense, the RRA carry handle was designed for Aimpoint use and the little screw compartment was for it's spare battery. I always wanted an ACOG, is it everything you expected? Or is it worth gettin an Eotech +magnifier or Aimpoint plus magnifier? All those optics are gonna bring that carbine weight up tooo...

I can't comment on NC Star or Leapers Carry handles but I would definitely look for a higher quality one used from a fellow Calgunner. They are offered for sale regularly around here. Lots of folks buy NIB AR's and the carry handle is the first thing that gets hucked into the parts bin. I have two carry handle AR's and I like the classic look too.
