It depends on what you plan to use it for? Up close tactical shooting? Banging steel to 300 yards? Making tight groups on paper?

Without knowing the specifics you want, take a look at the Nikon M223 series. They has a 1-4x, 2-8x, and a 3-12x. The m223 series is a great choice for any AR and is very well priced. I used them on a few AR's over the past year and have been very happy with them. You can also pair up their BDC reticle with the Spot On technology. This will definitely help with getting a tighter group and saving some ammunition at the range when sighting in. It will match your cartridge to the reticle and show you all the holdover points for whatever zero you choose. Nice optic at a great price:

I will say this buy once cry once. I know with times like these its hard but make a scope piggy bank and save a little more to get a better scope. I will say that I really like my 1-4 SWFA SS model.

The Nikon buckmaster isn't bad. The Bushnell Banner isn't bad either but not very durable.

Here is a link to a S&W forum

Hello, I own an M&P-15 22 and just love it. I had bought the Colt, but changed the order the next day after reading all the bad press. I’ve put over 500-1000 rounds through the rifle and have no complaints. I'm looking to add some accessories and wanted to know if anyone has any experience...

You might be able to find some Sporters with the risers/ rings as well as scopes that will fit your need.

I just got a riser from Valhalla: http://www.valhallaarmory.com/Quick_...er_p/marfq.htm

It is just under 5.5 inches long and adds almost 1 inch in height to my rifle's rail.

I just sold a Savage mod 11 in 223 that I had a Tasco 4-16x40 scope on for over 11 years! Good luck and have fun
