That's sort of a given....I meant, what do you plan on doing with it? 3 gun? range use? big game? mounting it on an AR? I'm not trying to be a smarta**, but for example, for some an F350 diesel is a good value, for others, it would be a huge waste.

Nice to have that kind of cash to blow on a range plinker. I'd say Trijicon. Self illuminated and nice amber reticle

Where did you get those prices from?

I'd be tempted by the Leupold at that price but the 1.5X on the low end kind of bugs me.

Vortex 1-4 PST for 500$, great scope if you need a 1X. Otherwise get the super sniper 3-9 + bobro mount combo 600$.

Vortex PST is made in Phillipines (a negative) but it is a great design with a great reticle from a great company. Super Sniper 3-9 (made in Japan, a plus) has the good old mildot in FFP with good turrets and the bobro quick release mount to boot. Both of those scopes are clear and bright for the price.

What about a Leupold in 3-9X? I don't see the need for 1X, unless you plan on using it for 3 gun. Something that has around 15X would make a great squirrel gun
