    Laser/Light for Glock

I am looking at getting a laser/light for my glock any suggestions? I am leaning towards the TLR-2s but I have heard it is more on the heavy side

What model Glock do you have? You might want to also consider the Insight X2....

What model glock is it? Surefire X300 or X400, a few guys I know with full sized 45acp glocks, I believe its model 21, all have the X400 on them and that thing is awesome.

Surefire is unbeatable when it comes to weapon lights

The Glock light is light, bright and very easy to operate. I haven't fired my 30 with the light mounted, so can't say how it hods up, but I sure like it otherwise . . .

The TLR-2 should work well for you. I wouldn't call it heavy, but the Glock tactical lights are certainly lighter.

I am in the same boat, but with a G19. The TLR-2s has the added laser which is a clear advantage over just a light.

Anyone have any real world experience running it?

I still say surefire makes a superior light, one that is made in america and will last forever

GunSafari makes an excellent point about the Surefire X300 and X400 being made in the good ol' U.S. of A. Domestic jobs are a Good Thing.

Depending on your budget, the Streamlight products represent a significant savings. By all means, if your wallet allows, the X300 and X400 are superb products. I run a TLR-1 on a 5" XD45, and I'm pretty happy with it.

You'll find that staying with either Surefire or Streamlight will increase your holster options over other brands of lights. We talk to a lot of unhappy people who have purchased a light only to find they can't get a light-bearing holster for their particular combination of light and gun, without going to a generic holster.

As far as weight goes, you're looking at a difference of 9 grams:

                  TLR-2s Weight (w/ batteries): 4.72 oz (133.8 grams)
                  X400 Weight (w/batteries): 4.40219 oz (124.8 grams)

To put it in perspective, the official weight of a US nickel is 5 grams. The difference between the two shouldn't throw off the balance or your aim, if that was the concern.

Pricey yes, over rated no way. You get what you pay for...

It comes down to personal preference and if you want the absolute best and something that will last, SureFire. Most soldiers I know use them and swear by them.

SureFire is one of the few light companies actually still made in the USA. Streamlight is "assembled" in the USA.

I have a Glock 21 w/ the Glock light. Works good but burns through the batteries pretty fast.

i have a tlr-1s on my g17 and i love it. wouldnt mind the laser but couldnt justify it for the additional $150. it does add a little nose weight, but i actually like that for controlled bursts/double taps. and a vendor here, boatman combat, makes excellent holsters that support the g17/g22 with the light combo.

I've been in the same boat. I keep reading that the X400 is better but I really wonder if it's 2x better than the TLR2S since that seems to be the price differential.
