For M-24

I picked up a Brookfield Precision M14 scope mount recently and am wondering what the correct rings would have been to make it authentic?

It came with a set of GGG rings but I don't think they are correct for an M-24.

The M24s I've used had Leupold or ARMS rings.

Ours either had the same as Brando stated, or the occasional Badger, Larue and even EGW rings. I'm partial to EGW rings, but then...I don't care about authentic.

Not sure what the real M14 scope rings are, but you cant go wrong with TPS steel rings. IMO

I used an M24 with a fixed 10x Leupold in the 90s.

That's what ours had, early 2000s. We had 3 M24s in my platoon, with 2 people sniper qualed, I unfortunately was not one of those two, not sure what rings were used though.

I think there were a few variations on the fixed 10x in the 90s, but for the most part that was it until that lame day/night sight bastardization was fielded. Those of us who got to use the Barrett M82s with the Swarovski scope tended to like the Christmas Tree reticle (similar to but predated Horus and Premier) and wish the 24s had them instead. The Leupolds were fine, but less than ideal.

These days it's a whole other situation. In fact, the new M24 evolution is in many ways a modernization across the board of the entire system. Back in the 90s, the only 24s you saw with suppressors was us and the Ranger Regt (for the most part). IR markers, clip-on NODs, Horus reticle - this is much more state of the art and it's good to see this being fielded across the board.

Ours had Leupold Mk4 LR/T 3.5-10x with mil dot reticles. Nothing special, but they did work.

Like Brando said, today is much different than back in the day with the rifles not just simply being outfitted with glass and go.
