Anyplace in So. Cal with a good assortment of scopes in stock?

I'm looking to pick up a scope and would really like to SEE the difference between a Leupold, Vortex Pst, Nikon, Bushnell, etc.

BTW- what is the largest objective lens you could get away with on a AR-15 style weapon. I'm think 44mm. Opinions?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Fowlers in Orange has the largest selection I've seen in person.

Maybe the new Bass Pro Shop in the IE is larger...

You're not gonna find a Viper PST in stock in Socal. Not yet at least. The best chance is to check out Field Time Sports, since they carry a lot of Vortex, but they're more hunting oriented so the "tactical" type scopes wont be present there.

Fowlers and Stockade definitely has a lot of scopes to look through. You'll get to try out Leupolds, Trijicon, Swarovskis, Nightforce, and Schmidt & Bender there...

There are local shooters with the Viper PST 1-4x at your local 3gun club so look up X3 multigun or Pala 3gun.

Check out Botach Tactical. My buddy got to look through an assortment of scopes there before he settled on his ACOG.

Bass Pro in Rancho has probably the best selection I've seen at a Brick and Mortar

Precision Arms in Escondido, usually has a few good scopes to compare. Leu, NF, IOR when I was there a number of months ago.

I just looked through a S&B(3x12 I think) and one of the new Leupold MK8, at Discount Gun Mart in PB.

Ammo Brothers has a good mix of Eotech, Trijicon, Leupold, and Burris IIRC. Really grown to like the TA31F-G but was most impressed with the Accupoint, as welll.
