SKS Front Sight Removal/ Russian replacement

I have seen somewhere on this site about taking the Grenade Launcher front sight off an SKS 59/66 and replacing it with a Russian front sight.
I can see the differences between the sights in photo's but cannot get one to compare.
How much difference is there between the securing pins holes on the Russian front sight to the pin grooves on the SKS 59/66 barrel.
I will not be cutting down the barrel but will be putting on a new muzzle brake.
    Thanks

I'm about to pick up a Yugo and am considering doing the same (since they are going to cut the barrel just behind the GL this rifle will never be original). You ever find an answer to this question?

If you have access to an angle grinder or a dremel, you can cut up the factory sight and make your own russian sight. It takes some time and care if you want it to look right though.
