    Choose between two scopes

It's for a Remington 700P, target shooting only, 200yds-800yds. Since I'm in the <$400 range (yes, I know), help me pick between these two:

Millett Tactical TRS-1 Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 4-16x 50mm Side Focus Illuminated Mil-DotBar Reticle Matte

    OR

    Nikon Monarch 4-16x42SF Mildot

    Thanks!

I don't know which to choose but here is a Millett from a Calgunner that has one for sale

I have a Burris E1, have you looked at their brand? A lot of value for good glass.

Stay away from the Millet. I use to have one and not a fan at all. For your budget you could get alot better scope if you go used. Look at the Bushnell's 3200 or 4200 forgot what they are going for. Try to find one with matching reticle and knobs. Not a deal breaker but nice to have. Also Falcon menace is a decent scope in that price range.

I'm thinking of the Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 AO as a consideration against the Nikon - dropping the Millett. I'd like to start another "help me choose" thread.

Crossfires have mixed reviews. I'd spend the extra $80 for a Diamondback.

I went with the Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x40 Mil/MOA. 250 bucks for an awesome scope. They have a few variable power versions too. Look for the new ones, not the 3200, 4200, 6500 series but the new Argon purged Tactical Elite series. They have pricing like the 3200's and features closer to 6500's.

                Run from millet.

                Nikon is usually really good.

Ha, seems so. I was a little reluctant and this thread pushed it out of consideration. Thanks!
