I have a Tac 30, and I agree with the others about the good and the bad, but a GREAT choice in the price range listed. Be careful ordering from SWFA, you should call to see if the item you want is REALLY in stock,
if you order on the web, it may turn into a blackhole backorder scenario. I didn't like the Vortex reticle(either one).

You have been given some really good option. I really like the Vortex PST 1-4x for the price, quality, and the options they are very hard to beat.

Here is a link to them on or sight with more info. Link to Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24-TMCQ

I have also been testing out the Weaver 1-5x and this is a very nice scope for the dollar. It is a FFP scope and I tend to not like FFP scope that are under 10x but the reticle they have works and works well. We have them in stock just not on our website yet.

And i do appreciate everyone's input so far. There are some really nice glass to choose from and most are outside of my set budget. This is my first AR and have really never extensively used a riflescope before. So i guess you can say this will be a starter scope for me. I really don't want to spend too much till i can figure out what will work for me.
It looks like it's still between the CMR and the TAC-30 unless i can get good feedback on the M-223 or another similarly priced optic.

There are a number of excellent scopes out there for the money and the Burris is certainly one of them. I have always been a huge fan of this fine company. Like "checkenback" mentioned, if you order from ANY internet dealer, it's better to speak with a live representative rather that ordering on-line. In every case that I know of, on-line orders are accepted and then you may receive the follow-up email that says "Sorry, that popular item is temporarily out of stock...."! If you call in your order, the representative can tell you immediately if your item is in the warehouse and if not, probably provide an approximate ETA.

Another vote for the Leupold Mark AR. At $279.00 it's hard to beat. Excellent glass. I have mine mounted with the Warne quick release rings. Best set up yet. HTH c good

I picked this scope up from Mike about a week ago and already have 500 rounds under it and it's simply awesome. I was running a Meopta and still love it, but will tell you that for versatility the Viper PST 1-4x is seriously tough to beat. Glass is better than a Leupold and reticle is usable without being cluttered. Good for CQ and long distance. I was nailing targets out to 600 no problem today with my 77gr. SMK load.

Definitely put this scope on your short list. Mine is mounted in an American Defense Scout mount. Go to CS Tactical and Mike and team will take care of you. I'm all about supporting California companies and keeping California money as much as possible in California and support Calguns sponsors.

I missed the deal on the CMR package at SWFA, the combo price is now $375 . I should have ordered it before going on vacation.
Decided to go with the Burris MTAC, i'll just need to save a little bit more and find a good deal on one. Thanks for all the help and input.

I went through what you did not long ago, and looked at a few..to me it came down to the Leupold mark AR & the Nikon N223. I could have gone either way but chose the Leupold. BotachTactical.com with free to ship. Good luck

The Leupold VXR are cool little scopes.

I'd highly recommend spending the extra money and getting a PST 1-4. I bought one from Mike at CS Tactical and couldn't be happier.
