Looking for a good optic/scope for hunting with a revolver over 100 yards.

    Thanks in advance.

Hunting with a handgun i'd say go with aimpoint, not sure what your hunting at 100 yards or with what caliber but these would be what i would suggest.

I have Leupold 2X on mine. On my encore pistols in 308win/257R etc I use 4X Leupold. I have a 3X Burris that seems ok.
Another option would be a Holo-sight type or red dot type.

OVER 100 yards with a rev is quite a long way.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Thank you for the suggestions. The revolver is a S&W 460.

Big boy revolver, I'd still say go with either of the 2 aimpoints i recommended above, best options for a handgun in my opinion, people even throw them on ARs and other rifles.

Differences between the 2 are finish, rail type and night vision capabilities. the T1 is hard anodized, picatinny rail interface and is night vision capable. the h1 uses a standard anodize so its a little less resistant to scratches, not night vision capable and uses a weaver style rail.

Either way these are both good options for a handgun, super light weight and have the features you need for an optic on a handgun....hope that helps

            dholla,

What rail are you putting on the gun? I am also looking to do the same on my 460XVR.

I want a JP red dot for short range use and a scope with EER for longer distance shooting.
