If you buy this one I don't think the Truglo mount is high enough for you to clear the front sight base. There will be no co-witness, too low with the stock mount.

If you budget allows try this:http://www.primaryarms.com/product.s...categoryId=419 And, add the Primary Arms Riser for the extra $29. See my middle rifle

Primary Arms is a good budget price red dot - next would be the Vortex, Lucids, then Aimpoint, Eotechs with more $$$.

Is it good in the sun light?

How big is the riser? I might be able to save there and go with this one.

      .83" high here for $11

      .5" high here for $10

The Vortex you are referencing ins the StrikeFire (which actually gets better than "ok" reviews)...

However - the "Aimpoint wannabe" that Hoop mentioned is the Sparc - which is a very good RDS - one of the better bang for buck (better than the Strikefire, and better than other RDS discussed in this thread)... it gets excellent reviews all over the internet... look up some of the youtube vid reviews for it.

The 2x magnifier is crap though... I use mine on an AK variant and have a Lucid on AR - I use the Lucid 2x magnifier with the Sparc (its much better than the Vortex mag) and have 2x-5x variable on the AR...

IMO, the Lucid HD7 and Vortex Sparc are both very good, reasonably priced RDS (and Hoop is right, probably the "cheapest ones" to consider)... if you are looking in the sub $100 range, it's not gonna matter which one you get.

Does the Lucid 2X magnifier screw right into the Sparc?
