    Help with Nightforce Reticle Choices

I am about to pull the trigger on a Nightforce scope but can't decide on which reticle. For mostly range and tactical applications, which is a better choice; the NP-R2 or the Mil Dot?

    Thanks.

The main difference is preference. There is a member (pthfinder i believe) that did a very good comparison of the two. It is in the forums somewhere. I prefer MIL but that is me. I can strongly suggest though that it really helps to have the turrets match the reticle.

Depends on the scope and whether or not you want to go MOA or MIL. On a Nightforce 1-4x or 2.5-10x that you wanted to go MOA with I would recommend a NP-R2. If you wanted to do MOA on a 3-15x Second Focal Plane or 5.5-22x second focal plane go with a NPR-1. For Mil on a 3-15x or 5.5-22x do an MLR.

On a 3-15x F1 do an NPR-F1 for MOA (we have this in-stock right now) or the new MLR2 for MIL.

      thanks,

This is key, make the reticle and knobs match. Unless you enjoy doing math

I don't have a use for mildots right now. My NXSes have NP-R1 and NP-1RR reticles. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably get a BR 12-42x instead of a NXS with a CH-1 for one of them and keep the NP-R1 on the other.
