    AR-15 Scope Mount/Rings

Trying to do some homework on the best possible way to mount a 3-9X40 scope on my flat-top (no carry handle) AR-15. The scope is a one inch tube and I seem to find many mixed reviews on the proper way to mount it. Specifically, will the factory installed front post sight get in the way of the sight picture when looking through the scope? Some say no and others say to raise the optics with risers that you would affix the scope mounting rings to. I'd like to focus on the proper height of the mounting rings, the need for any riser, and whether or not the front sight post will be in the way when viewing through the scope. I appreciate any help one can offer.

Would something like Warne 1inch Quick Detach AR15 Flat Top Rifle scope Rings be sufficient?

I have a 2-7x32 on my AR attached with a Burris PEPR mount that seems to work well. The Warne will work too.

So your front iron sight post never blocks your field of view?

at 3x you wont see the front sight through the scope.

I have a mark AR 3x9 mounted with a RRA cantilever mount. It gives me the rise and forward mount I was looking for. The RRA mount was less expensive than the PEPR (which I had a hard time finding in 1") and it's made in the USA.

I just bought some Warne rings over the weekend and it they are pretty nice. Much nicer than the cheaper rings sold in the $20-30 range.

Since 1991, Warne Scope Mounts has offered best-in-class firearm-specific fitments made in the U.S. Shop scope mounts, rings, rails, bases, bipods and more.

I got those in 30mm and they seem rock solid and hold zero after re-mounting. Guess I cant ask for more as they work and seem to be built well. I wanted some Larue mounts but it was hard to justify spending $200 for a mount when the scope cost $300.

This is what I was using prior to the Warne rings...

The Warne rings are so much nicer than my previous mount.

pepr is what I use also no co witness if you want some kind of co witness you'll need a riser. If you don't use that and just use the buis as true back ups like alot of us you're fine.
