    MOA vs MIL

Hey guys... i've learned scopes in MOA terms... everything I've ever owned is MOA... i think in terms of inches.... I can't seem to think in terms of metric...

Can anyone give me a good reason why I should switch to MIL?

If you are shooting by yourself it doesn't matter, but if you are shooting with a group, team or spotter, it helps to be all on the same page as to what scale you are using. MOA or Mil.

I've switched to a Mil Mil scope. I still have a couple of scopes with mil reticles and MOA (1/4) turrets.

1/4 MOA turret adjustments are a little finer (.25") than .1 Mil (.36") adjustments. To get out to 1000 yds. (with a .308 Win.) it takes about 10-12 mils, which is just over 1 revolution on some scopes. MOA takes 35-40 MOA which may be 3 or 4 revolutions on most 1/4 MOA adjustment scopes.

It just makes sense to have a scope with reticle and turret adjustments on the same scale.

I don't shoot past 1000 yds. much, there may be advantages farther out, but these are just a couple of thing off the top of my head. Others may chime in with more pro / con suggestions.
