ACOG w/e adjuster caps with lanyards

My acog does not come with adjust lanyard. I was considering buying the adjuster caps w/ lanyard until I saw a hi resolution pic. Apparently both caps have the grove for the lanyard.

It look like you just slip the two ends of the lanyard over the adjuster caps and adjust to tight so they don't slip off. Anyone know where I can buy just lanyard?

Or has any considered safety wiring the lanyard caps to a bolt on the acog?

Trijicon sells the lanyards for the ACOG as a replacement part if I'm not mistaken.

If that's the lanyard my buddy has on his acog then it only attaches one cap to the other. The lanyard setup that comes on one of the particular models of acog are individually attached to one of the assembly screws/bolts on the body of the optic.

This is the product that I'm referring to. I just want the lanyard portion, because as my first post indicated, the caps look identical and have the grove for the lanyard to ride in.

I was considering just safety wiring the two adjusters together then tether to a fixed point (i.e. tap a screw head)

I do not believe Trijicon sells the individual lanyard portion of those caps. Try giving them a call directly. They might be able to send out the lanyard separately.

              Just use some fishing line

In all seriousness, if you want the lanyard, just spend the $11. Yes, $11 seems like a lot for a couple of caps and a piece of wire, but you spent about $1000 on a scope and now you are worried about 11 bucks.

If you go the do-it-yourself route, I personally wouldn't tap and screw the lanyard to the ACOG itself because...1. If you ever want to sell it, screwing something into the scope will decrease the value. 2. While zeroing the ACOG, you should only take off one cap at a time anyway, so it will always be attached

safety wire isn't ghetto rigging it. Safety wire is how race cars/motorcycles have parts secured to prevent things from vibrating loose, very expensive parts mind that, too. When done correctly, it is very clean.

But I see the point about it being a trivial cost, I just didn't want to have to needlessly purchase spares and have more crap lying around.
