    EOtech magnifier alternatives

So, I have the EOtech XPS2-2 and wanted to buy a magnifier. Although I want the EOtech G23 Magnifier, it's way out of my budget range. ($549)

    Any good alternatives?

Given that you spent the $’s on an EOtech why skimp on a magnifier? You can buy something Made in China but you’ll never be happy unless maybe you’re shooting a 22. If that’s the case then Primary Arms would be my choice. I have his 3X in front of a reddot on a 22 but I’d never put it in front of anything military grade like an EOtech or an AimPoint.

Take a look at the Vortex 3x magnifier:

I have done a side by side comparison with this and the G23 and found them to be very similar with regards to optical clarity and FOV.

Chalk another one up for the Vortex. I have it in a FTS mount by LaRue. Clarity is good, but eye relief is something to be desired, given the FOV. Still, nice addition to have, IMO.

Vortex as well. I have one and it compares very well to the EoTech my buddy has. If your life doesn't depend on it and cool factor is not too high on your list, take a look at the Vortex. Call Mike at CSTactical.com he's in Elk Grove and a sponsor vendor on this site. He's got them.

I run a vortex 3x mag behind my eoTech 557 and am happy w/it. My friend has the complete eotech set up and the only thing I would comment on is the quick flip to side mount on the eotech mag is trick as my vortex rubs on my rear flip up troys slighly when I turn it to the side.

I checked and it looks like all the mil surplus Hendsolt sights (what I use) are completely sold out, that leaves a choice of spending the money on something that will hold up to abuse or a toy. If you need to save some money then I think I'd look at the Burris and the Vortex just based on manufacturer reputation.

I also recommend the Vortex 3x.

                        I'm waiting on the Lucid 2x-5x variable magnifier. I'm a cheap bugger, so I can't justify paying >$300 on a magnifier that's limited to 4x or 5x.
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.
