    EoTech optic decision

    Hey all,

I'm building up a AR15 and I'm in the market for an optic. Preferably an EoTech as CG has the group buy going on right now. I hear that they are one of the best too, but I'm open to other options as well.

I'm thinking the 516 is the one I want, and I want to see what others think of it. if there are other options I would be up to hearing about them.

I'm mainly going to be shooting at indoor ranges--25yrd max. I would like to get to some out door ones but I have yet to discover those.

I have the EXPS 3-0 and would recommend it without hesitation. I like how the power and brightness controls are on the side, so if you have BUIS they aren't a pain to get to. I also like the smaller footprint it has.

XPS2-2 here. Bought from a group buy here on CG. Rocked right out of the box!

For 25yd indoor just buy a primary arms. They have really good reviews.

If you want to buy something once and that will last, go with an EOTech. Great for 25 yards out to 400+ if you decide to add a magnifier. The EXPS series is nice thats its more compact with a transverse battery and has teh buttons on the side to pair up well with a magnifier. A purchase you will never regret for sure.

We currently have the EXPS2-2 in-stock. Just heard from EOTech that we'll be getting more of the EXPS3-0TAN shipped out near the beginning of June as well.

            Thanks,

you do not need a $500 optic for 25 yard shooting. An inexpensice $150 Primary Arms RDS will do just fine. A quality BUIS from Troy would be even better.

Much thanks guys. I went with the EoTech 516 for $400. I'm happy with the look and operation of it even though I haven't been to the range with it yet. I hope that will be soon. I only a few parts away from a complete build.
