Fake EOTech importer busted

This story is a bit late, but I still find it relevant for a post.

The fake EOTechs have been filtering through the market as the real deal. EOTech has even received fake EOTechs as RMA repair since the end user bought the unit at a gun show or on line believing it is the genuine article.

This is just a heads up for everyone to be aware of suspicious sellers or a deal too good to be true.

I saw a bunch of those for sale in Thailand a few years ago. They had ACOG, Eotech, Leopold scopes you name it on the streets. ALways wondered if they would have worked.

I don't understand how all these chinese importers of fake stuff don't get busted. I hate going to gun shows because of all the cheap chinese bull crap!

It's because when one goes down, 3 more pop up to replace him. It's a battle that can't be won through simple law enforcement. Our government needs to take political action against it and the country that allows it.

I also did the math... the seizure is worth roughly $80K not $400K. Why the news always have to make things bigger than they are.

how close are these

i have an airsoft version of one that is all plastic and is not holographic it has red/green options and takes AAA instead of AAs

it not using the same tech is just a lookalike akin to airsoft versions of real guns

sure it is using the name but i look at it as a model like a revel model kit do they have to get a licence to have miniature chevrolet logos ?

ive yet to see one in which was easily confused with an original

I've compared the airsoft fakes with my real EOTechs... theres no comparison... the fakes are OBVIOUSLY fakes.

Now if these guys figured out how to make holographic fakes that feel and look like the real thing and try to pass them off as real, well shame on them!

It's why i dont buy red dots and holographics on ebay.
