    Aimpoint M68 Optic Scope

Is anybody familiar with this type of scope?

Aimpoint Comp M4 with QRP2 Combo

My nephew is in the US Army and this scope he has on his M4 is the standard official US Army issue red dot scope and he's is going to be ship oversea to Afganhistan. Does anyone used one before? I'm thinking about buying one?
Any help would be appreciate? Thanks.

As far as I know, the Aimpoint M68 (M68 CCO) is just the military designation of the civilian CompM2. I have an M68. It has a 4 MOA dot, one 3V lithium battery, 10,000hr battery life, 6 daylight brightness settings, and 4 NV settings. The new CompM4 has 80,000hrs of battery life off of one AA battery, a 2 MOA dot, 9 daylight brightness settings, and 7 NV brightness settings. The new PRO is very popular because it's a bit cheaper. It's basically an M2 with a 2 MOA dot. May be harder to get as they're generally sold to LEO.

While we're here arguing about the latest high tech running shoes, there's some Kenyan out there running barefoot. Guess who's gonna win the marathon?

      HI Aaron,

UserM4 is correct. The M68 is the military designation for the CompM2. The M68 is a fantastic sight. I used one on and off for three years while on active duty in the Army. I was able to drop a 300 meter target while using that sight on my M4 with an M203 attached (in a strong cross wind). You cant go wrong with an AimPoint. I recommend taking a look at the CompM4:

The "s" version has the low battery compartment which gives it a nice low profile design.
