    Hi-Lux CMR 1-4x Scope Review~!

    Hello everyone,
So here is my official review of the Hi-Lux CMR.

AWESOME! Great glass, nice and clear, held its zero like a rock between range trips. I consistently hit steel targets flat at 200 yrds fairly rapidly.

Decent eye relief. I didn't have a big problem reacquiring a sight picture fairly quickly. It was very easy to sight in. Actually it was pretty damned close right off the bat . If i remember right , it only took about 6 rounds to walk into the bullseye at 75yrds.

Below are three pics from my second trip to angeles with it. The first 2 are from 75 yrds and the last was from 100. I was mixing and matching ammo on the second 2 targets including my own reloads ( which kicked *** ) and still hit some decent groups. All in all..... you can't beat what it does for the price that it does it at. I think it was swa optics or something like that ..... they had it with a really beefy burris mount for $350 or something like that . For someone on a budget who wants everything, i think you'd be hard pressed to find a better candidate.

Cons: The lit reticle is not bright enough.... it will really only help you in legit lowlight situations. In the bright beating sun .... barely visible on its highest setting. But .... nice and clear inside and outdoors in the evening. It's green, which i actually prefer for a lit reticle , but it'd be nice if it were brighter.

The weight ( with caveats ) . For a precision that you will be shooting from the bench or even standing still it's absolutely fine, but for CQB and fast moving transitions ... it's not the right choice. It's a bit bulky and cumbersome to be slinging around your back and the like. However , I'd be very confident close in with it, , even both eyes open i can still get a sight picture with the ~1x magnification on. But because of the lenses you have to get the right eye relief to see , which holo and red dot sights do not have . So for carbine classes, cqb....go with a red dot . I'll be checking out the Vortex sparc for all of us on budgets.

ps. for all you 1 in 7" twist ratio naysayers. My ar's fav ammo so far has been 55gr Federal M193 ball , no need for the more expensive heavier rounds. Can't say for long long distance , but i was hitting the metal targets flat at 200.... the lovely generic brown box .. military 2nds.
