    Trijicon Acog help

I had a chance to buy an acog and didnt know anything about it except i knew i was getting a good deal. So I bought a Ta31RCO-A4 but i read online that the A4 is for the 20inch barrel. That makes sense being as it says a4 i just didnt think about it.

Is there anyone else out there using the a4 version on a 16' rifle. And if so how is it working out? Should I not bother putting it on the 16 if I want to use it properly?

Keep in mind Im very new to AR15's and even newer to Acogs. Any info would be helpfull.

Also I heard trijicon can change reticles and do a rehaul on your acog. Read its around 400$. Has anyone done this. Is it worth the money?

You will be just fine with that on a 16". The 20" bbl provides a little more bullet velocity and that translates to a little less bullet drop way down-range. You won't notice a thing at 250 yards or less. 300 - 400 maybe a tad more holdover needed, 500+ the difference can be noticeable but still not a deal-buster IMHO. Always best to learn and verify your LD holdovers with proper testing anyway

If you bought the RCOm4cp which is calibrated for the 14.5" barrels, what kind of differences would you notice?

The 14.5" barrel provides a little less velocity than a 16" does and a 20" barrel a little more than a 16" does, so take it on in from there. You also have to factor the actual bullet weight in use as 55gr, 62gr, 75gr and 77gr bullets don't fly the same past a certain point

I have an ACOG on my M4 and I know many other guys have had it before me. I have been the crap out of it and I'm sure others have before me. It still holds a zero and it hits what I shoot at.

I would be comfortable buying once that is well worn. There are electronics or anything. As long as everything is structurally sound and it was a good price.
