    Bushnell T-dot Vs Vortex Strikefire

Looking for a good quality red dot that won't break the bank. Dot will go on my .22 AR for now and eventually will make it onto my SKS when my new stock arrives. For the same price I'm having trouble deciding. I like the looks of the Bushnell but the Vortex comes with more stuff and has a better battery. Which would you prefer?

I'm also looking for a decent optic to put on my 5.56 AR.

I'd like to hear different opinions on the best quality for the $100-150 price range.

I like my vortex. It's easy to use and the features are great for the price. I lost my 2x magnifier bu I never really used it anyways.

You might consider the Vortex Sparc - it's smaller, comes with a detachable 2x magnifier, and multiple mounts that can be combined for different heights.

It's NV compatible. The only downside is that the illumination is red only, not red/green like the Strikefire.

I've seen Bushnell T-Dots returned because the reticle is canted.

I prefer the looks/design/battery/mount of the Vortex. However shooting with the Bushnell T-reticle is better than ANY red dot scope. If any of the other major red dot scope manufacturers offered the T-reticle I would be all over it.

I know you didn't list it any of your options, but I vote for Busnhell TRS-25 all the way, and if you want a micro dot with interchangeable mounts, I vote for Primary Arms Micro dot w/ removable base and killflash. Both should be under $120 shipped. Quality budget red dots, I've used them on my 5.56/.223 AR before my Aimpoint Comp M2 and was very happy.

I thought the vortex aimpoint style red dot had problems with the brightness. I would go with the sparc, unless your going for that aimpoint look.

That was on the red/green dot version. The red dot only is much brighter. I've heard that Vortex will exchange the red/green version for the red only, also.

well, a SPARC really does look similar to a Aimpoint micro...

I'm also in the market for a red dot sight. I recently found a scope called the Lucid HD 7. You should check it out! http://www.mylucidgear.com/reddot.php

The 'red only' version goes from very dim to mega bright, easily bright enough for use on the brightest days outside.

I like the SPARC and when funds permit I'd like to add one to my dedicated .22 upper. I just got a good deal on a Bushnell T-dot and I'm really looking forward to getting it sighted in. I ordered a bullpup stock kit for my SKS and if/when it ever gets here I'll mount it up.

The vortex I had was great, zero problems.

The dot in mine only got a little messed up at max brightness, but other than that it was a perfect circle.
