I got my SWFA SS 3-9x42 a few weeks back and thought I'd share my impressions. Let me start by saying that I am new to scopes, especially those costing more than $200, and I am not an expert in the matter at all.
The finish and craftsmanship are excellent and it feels very solid. I've peered through it in every light condition imaginable, including rain and snow, and the images that I looked at from close range, out to 1000+ yards are incredibly clear and sharp. Again, I've never used NF/USO/S&B/Zeiss, so I can't compare it to those, but it is definitely the nicest glass that I have ever used.
The turrets feel good and they are very precise. I was slightly disappointed that they are not audible at all, but they are not mushy either.
So far I really like the FFP reticle. I thought that the change in size would bother me, but it's not a problem at all. The reticle and mil-dots are a very easy to use. I've got to use it for slight hold-overs, and for ranging distant objects.
Overall I am very happy with this scope. For $540 I don't think that I could beat it. I think it's going to be a perfect optic for the Mk12 SPR if I ever finish it. But it has worked out well on my 16" AR.
Just thought I'd share my experience with some good equipment.

P.S. The Larue mount is awesome as well. The eye relief and cheek weld are perfect, and the thing is very solid.
