I just bought a LMT .308 and looking for suggestions on good optics for this gun.

Leupold Mark 8 is more than I want to spend ($3,000). Looking for something for close and out to 600 yards. My budget is some where less than $1,500.

The Leupold Mark 8 is insanely overpriced (MSRP of $4,000).

If you want an optic like it (good for CQB out to long range), I suggest waiting until the 1-8x scopes from S&B, Nightforce, and Premier Reticle are out; then compare features and price.

i agree, too much money for the scope.

Ideally, a great scope would be the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x with the BRT-I but that is sounding likes it's out of your budget.

Here are two other options. One hits your budget, the other one is way below it:

Nightforce 2.5-10x32

Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44

1-600 yards would be an acog for me. Farther out and you need a NF 2x10 or uso 2x10. Uso is over your budget. I was shooting 350yds with my acog in big gusty crosswinds and holding an orange size group center mass on a 3/4 target.
