I am thinking about purchasing a vortex red dot or a bushnell red dot for my AR. I have heard decent things about the bushnell but not really anything about vortex optics or even about them as a company. I was just wondering if any of you guys have any knowledge of them and if they are a good buy over the Bushnell. Thanks

If you can wait I'll post a report on the following RDS (Aimpoint T1, Vortex Sparc, and Lucid HD7)."People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

What front sight are you running? Depending on your mounting requirements and the front sight you have, you may run into cowitness problems with the Vortex. I know I did...Those acting in the public interest assume obligations of accountability and transparency. Vortex, for the money is great."If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."

I'd say it's well worth the money. I had a small issue w/ a mount [it was all my fault actually] and the CS department took care of me promptly. I've put a lot of rounds downrange and haven't had an issue. The screw in magnifier and caps could be better... but they're far from a deal breaker.Need Pest Control? Message me!

Red Dot sights from both companies should provide good service, but the extra goodies that Vortex includes makes them desireable. They include a variety of mounting options, AND also include 2X doublers for a bit of magnification. Some models also include a NV setting as well.
