    Rangefinder

What are the top choices for rangefinders? I am looking at the Leica and Bushnell and hear the Bushnell Elite 1500 works well but is hard to convert when using mildot scope. How about the Leica- I have not seen how the ranging is shown. thanks for the help!

I really like my Leica LRF Scan.

The range is shown via red superimposed LCD digits and a little square for where the laser is ranging.

It ranges against objects where my friend's Leupolds or Bushnells can't get a read.

Watch some message boards... I bought mine off ARFcom for $220 shipped and it's mint, I could not tell it was used.

The Bushnells suck by comparison. The Leicas are awesome for the price, and are second only to the Swarovski unit. I use Leica Geovids and they range fine out to 1100 or so. Word is the Swaro's go out to 1800 or more, but they run 2x the cost.

how are the Nikon Monarch Gold Laser Rangfinders? they cost a little less than the Leica, and they go out to 1,200 yards.

My buddy had one and used it on one hunting trip. Sent it back when he got home. Said it wouldn't range past about 500 yards.

This place has the Leicas for 429. For that price, the decision is easy.
