    Which scope for my SPR

I don't have the cash for a high end optic, so I've narrowed it down to the Bushnell 3200 10x40, Primary Arms 4x16x44, or the Millet DMS. I'm trying to keep it under $225. Anyone have all 3 pros and cons? Is there anything I'm leaving out that would be worth taking a look at?

    -Thanks

What is your intended purpose for the rifle? The 3 optics you mention serve different purposes. Reticle consideration is huge if you want to be able to do any ranging.

Millet DMS (if 1-4x24) is used by 3 gunners and used very similar to a red dot with 4x mag. capability. Good for run and gun with a 400 yard max usage.

Bushnell 3200 10x40 fixed mag. Good scope if you don't mind fixed mag. Not too big of a scope so still maneuverable. Nice turrets and sturdy. This has many good reviews and seems like a favorite scope to start out with for long range shooting. This was the scope I was going to get for my bolt gun but went with a Falcon Menace adj mag.

Primary Arms 4x16x44 adj mag. would be well suited for a bolt gun as this is very long and big. If you plan on shooting only from a bench this would be OK but if moving look else where. Don't know about the clarity of the glass and durability but a Google search will probably get you the info.

I've read good things on the PA, it will mostly be used just for plinking in the desert. last time i took it to the range i was mostly shooting paper at 100, and hitting the 300 steel targets with iron sights. so i've been looking at stepping up to a scope for it.

As far as pictures not sure why you need one, but i can post one up if needed. But it's just a 18" upper

For plinking at the range or in the desert at the max range of your SPR then either the Bushnell 3200 10x or the PA 4-16x will suit you well. Both of these scopes should hold zero and it looks like they both have Mil Dot reticles for ranging. Don't forget to buy a good mount or you defeat the purpose of a decent scope. The PA has the advantage with higher mag. and price but what would be more important is glass clarity. I can't comment on the glass because I have not had a chance to compare these 2 side by side. Good glass goes a long way.

I'll probably run a Burris PEPR or something along those lines

The rule I learned a long time ago.

By the best rifle you can afford. On glass...take out a loan if you must to get the best for the job. Buy once & cry once. It's not uncommon to have your glass be close in price with your rifle. My opinion.
