Help Please: Initial adjustment of front post?

Hi - I just got a front and rear set of Magpul BUS (not really irons I know). How high or how do I know how high I should raise the post on the front sight? Right now the front post is recessed about 1/8~1/4" below the wings. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no hard spec for top of post distance below top of "wings". Pull the bolt carrier, look through the barrel at something 20-30 feet away. If the sights align about 2.5" above the same point you see through the barrel, you will be on paper at 50 yards. From there on out, you may only need to adjust the rear if you aren't hitting way high or low at 50 yards.
