    Help me pick my 1st scope

    I'm looking for a scope to use on my Swiss K31, I'm thinking a 3-9x40 will be a good all around scope. This will be my first scope and I'm looking at a $100-$175 budget. Here are some scopes I've been seeing as a popular pick. Which one would you recommend. It will be used mostly for range use. Thanks

      Anyone of them will do. I do not personally know about the Vortex but have heard good things about them. I know the others and they will all work or even a cheaper Leupold new or used.
      A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

              All of those are pretty good choices for your price range. You might want to look at Nikon Prostaff too.

                  Have you chose what rings you are going to use. Many said to use Warne 7.3 rings, so that is what I bought. It turns out there are two kinds, one has a two screw cap and the other has a four screw cap. I got the two screw kind, and both screws on the right side broke while sighting in. I've since got the four screw one, have not shot it since. I believe you can only get these through Brownells.http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1...duct/7_3_RINGS
                  I have a Nikon Bushmaster 4.5-14x40, I got med height rings, but I think Lows would work.
                  A lot of people use different rings without any problems, this was my experience.

                      Just ordered the scope from Graf's. I purchased a Sightron S1 3-9x40 mil-dot at $107 I think it's the right price for a paper puncher. I'm hoping I'll be happy with it. I will post pictures as soon as it comes in. I will be picking up the scope rings locally so I can decide on the correct height. Thanks for all the advise.

                          There's a guy online that I was talking to that has a Tasco 4-16x for sale for like $100. I was just wanting the Stoney Point elevation knob that's on it.
