EOTech replica

I've been looking at sights at the local gun store and they have EOTech replica's. They look just like an EOTech and they seem to function the same, at least in the shop. They are about $75 which is much cheaper. So I know they aren't as good as an EOTech, but I was wondering if anybody on here has one and how they like it? Figured it would be a good back up sight for the price.

Most of the replicas use an LED as opposed to a holograph for the sight. WAY cheaper to produce, but at the same time nowhere near as good of quality or functionality. It's like saying why should I buy a Surefire or Stinger flashlight when an Eveready plastic 2-cell flashlight will still give off light. Yes, it will, but still nowhere in the same league. Then you have to factor in recoil and how well it's constructed (most of the replicas were designed for airsoft), and you can start to understand why the price disparagence.

Now, I'm not saying that the replicas are bad, because they do have a place. I wouldn't want to stake my life on one in a SHTF situation, though.

EOTech replica's are great... for airsoft. That is usualy their intended use. I don't think I would put one on a real firearm.

they are made in china for toys...its a "look" thing only. It will not hold zero. There is a thread in the rifle section where a guy is pissed he can't even zero it after 200 rounds.

For $75 you can buy a used PA aimpoint clone which is made for real firearms.
