Just purchased a Nikon Monarch 28x32 for my new AR build. Flat top, RRA predator pursuit, with A2 stock. Can anyone suggest a good mount for it (1" dia)?

Thanks for the reply, but I am thinking that I don't want to spend 70% of the cost of the scope for a mount. Are there other suggestions?

For something inexpensine, Burris PEPR and RRA works great and are solid mounts.Comment

+1... The Burris PEPR seems to be the hot setup in the -$100 range though i have yet to use one.
another option is the armalite 1-pc mount which i have used (currently on 2 AR's) and are a quality piece. you can find them for around $40-50 used...CRPA Lifetime MemberComment

I have an American Defense for sale in the classifieds.
Nothing wrong with it. I just came up on a very good deal for a Bobro so I am using that presently. AD is sitting in the box.
edit: My bad. I just noticed you want 1" rings. Sorry.Comment

I'll vote for the Burris PEPR in the under $100 range. Solid, good support, good height and decent forward offset.
I'm not familiar with the Primary Arms mounts, but they look good, and the extended is probably the least expensive extended mount you can get.
Here's the Big List of AR Mounts:
I haven't updated it for a while, and some of the links are broken, but Google is your friend.
The main things to consider are quick release (levers) vs semi-QR (thumbscrews) vs non-QR (tools needed), centerline height, and forward offset.
If you are using BUIS, you'll need to know if it'll fit under the mount/scope combo, which takes a bit of measurement and math.
I've got a post in this thread explaining how to calculate that:

I'll say maxicon, your list helped me out a LOT when I was looking for mounts especially on the cheap when I didn't have the cash. I have bought Burris PEPR mounts, ADM mounts, and have been around enough cheapo and expensive mounts to enjoy the quality ones. I'll vote for anything you want so long as you get it from Scott at Libertyoptics.com He is a stand up guy and made an impact with the customer service he gave over the phone and how quick things shipped. Great guy and I would definitely go with him for the price and customer service combined.Comment

The PEPR mounts are OK, but if you ever get your hands on a LaRue or other mount of similar quality, you'll wish you had gone that route instead.
You can get a LaRue for $150 if you forego the QD levers.sigpicComment

What about this one?
How is the quality of those those Bobro mounts vs Larue's version?Last edited by Justintoxicated; 04-29-2011, 10:16 PM.Comment

Bobro is going to frickin rock compared to most else. Only other one I would get and would be my primary scope mount is my American Defense Recon-S mount. Beautiful mount and locks up so solid.Comment
