    Newbie Questions

What will I need to be able to mount a scope on a Tikka T3 Scout CTR?

I'm confused as to what rings / bases I need.

    Do I need this?

    Rings

Is that all I need? Or do I need this as well?

    Base

    Off-Topic

What should I be getting first for my rifle?
    • Optics?
    • Extended Magazines?
    • Bi-Pod?

This is going to be my first firearm and I'm a bit confused on mostly everything.

    Thanks for the help.

It really depends on what you will be using it for? target shooting? hunting? small varmit shooting? Also how experienced you are and how much money you want to invest in it?
A peace sign is really only a middle finger and a trigger finger away---- Think about it!

I have a couple of Tikka's but not the scout model. That would not have been my first choice for a first rifle. You will like the Tikka. They are great rifles. I do not know what you plan to use it for but will guess. IF Hunting get 1 or 2 extra mags(they are not cheap). You can get reg or 5 round ones. Either will work fine. My rifles came with scope rings and built in mounts. Your may. If it does use them and get a good Leupold scope for it. You will be ready for anything then as far as weather etc. If hunting(big game) get the tallest Harris bipod which swivels. If varmit shooting prone get a short one.

Most important get some ammo and practice. IF you do not have a 22RF rifle get one and start practicing with it. It is cheaper to shoot and you will not learn to flinch so much. Be SURE to wear ear protection when shooting any rifle/pistol. I do not wear any when big game hunting but I always do at a range or just out plinking.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
