    Mueller vs Burris

Im gettinfg a savage 12fv in 233 and was trying to figure out which scope to get.I plan to shoot 69-75 grain with to goal of reaching 500 yards one day.The Burris Fullfield II 6.5-25 is at the top of my buget 400$.My other option is the Muller 8.5-25x44 tactical for around 1/2 that.I have a Mueller APT on my savage .17 and love it but I'm trying to get a little mor serious about longrange shooting with maybe starting yote hunting if I could find some where to go and someone to go with. My question is is the Burris really worth the extra money?I am not set just on these two all .02 welcomed. Thanks

"Is that a desert country?" "No; a fat country; fat people." "You are not fat?" "No. I'm different..."

IMHO you can get a lot better optics for the price you are looking to put out. Check out Nikon, Simmons, and Vortex. Go to a store and look thru some different one to see which reticle you prefer and the eye relief on the other before settling. Don't just jump into it look around and get what best siuts you and your shooting.

You're looking at the wrong kind of glass, Bushnell seems to be phasing out their 4200 series, the 1" 6-24x40 with AO (NOT SF) mildot is under $400 at Midway:

I had this on a 12FVSS I bought, I swapped it out for a Zeiss Conquest 1" 6.5-20x50 SF. The Conquest has more features, SF parallax correction, and a more forgiving eyebox, but that Bushnell is EXCELLENT glass for the half the money. Now it's on sale for $365, you can't touch it for the money.

Cheapie Chinese scopes are fine for screwing around at 100 yards at the range, if you really want to shoot for distance you need the best glass you can get your hands on.

          Regards,

Ok still cant make up my mind!! What about this
                http://http://www.midwayusa.com/view...tNumber=460354

Bushnell Elite 3200 Rifle Scope 7-21x 40mm Adjustable Objective Mil-Dot Reticle Matte. The price is right. When I researched the Burris more I think its over kill and its 50mm
                would mean very high rings.
