which red dot for my buckmark??

what do you guys think i should top my buck mark with? i should say on the cheaper side under $200

checked out the ultradots, primary arms, vortex sparc, burris fast fire...but i've never used any of those.

do these cheaper red dots have the zero parallax like an aimpoint or eotech does? can't wait to see what comes up. thanks guys!

oh i should say that most of the shooting will be indoor and plinkin the steel at angeles.

just bought a matchdot

just bought a matchdot ultradot, will find out out next week how it works and let you know,
i went with the matchdot because the company told me absolutely it will hold zero no matter what moa you dial up, so, instead of a fixed 4 you have a full quiver of dot sizes.
also, the ultradots are japan made, not china, one of my 2 citori's is made in japan, and the japan made browning is as good as the belgium in my opinion.

I suggest Primary Arms. It feels very very solid on top of my AR. The dot itself is well made feels strong, doesn't seem like the other cheap Chinese knock offs. Decently priced also.

I have 3 Ultradots (one 30mm and 2 1"), all bought used, and have had great luck with them. The dot doesn't maintain the same brightness as the batteries die, but the batteries last quite a while, and mine work well in the bright sun.

I've run them on a wide variety of guns, and one lives permanently on my Ruger MKII bull barrel. I've never had a problem with any of them. The one on the Ruger has never shifted point of aim in 5 years.

The included rings are fine for a .22, and are light weight and low profile. They're not great rings, but they do the job.

Here's a pic of one of my Ultradots, mounted on my MK512, using the Ultradot rings. They're a pain to mount initially due to the vertical split, but if you mount them and leave them, they're fine. If you changed optics much, you'd probably want rings that could be removed from the base without loosening them on the scope.

This particular one has had the batteries installed for quite a while, but it's hard to guess how many hours. I usually leave it on for the entire shooting session (an hour or so), typically set at about 4 for the indoor range, which is plenty bright without any blooming. Just now, I can see the dot against the afternoon sky (my standard brightness test) with the dial set at 6, and it's quite bright set at 10.

This combo makes for the most accurate handgun I have, especially with match ammo.

Long time ago I put a Aempoint on my Buckmark and I have been happy with it. I do have a Bushnell Holo-sight I might try on it. BUT maybe I will just get another gun for it. Why mess with something that is not broke.

i emailed primary arms about their microdots and they said both are parallax free to 50yds.

now that's pretty sweet for 80 bucks!

anyone have stories bout those?

I have a Burris Fastfire on my Ruger MKIII...its been great. I think its a really good size for pistol use. I would buy another one for sure.

I have red dots from primary arms and they are holding well on AR platforms. I like the PA micro-dot.
