    First Spotting Scope

Hey I am looking to spend about $200 on a spotting scope. Any thoughts? I am thinking of this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._20_60x80.html

Burris are okay for cheap ones, I have one and it works fine. I have heard Konus are good too.

TBH if you want a decent spotting scope you have to pay for it.

I am not looking to do any crazy precision marksmanship. Mostly to use while I shoot my military surplus rifles.

Something like this will be as good as anything else you'll find sub-200:

You could also shop around for something used, maybe you'll get lucky. A buddy of mine just got a REALLY nice older pentax spotting scope off craigslist with a tripod for 50$.

You get what ya pay for. Like John said, OpticsPlanet is a GREAT site. They have everything and it's hard to beat their prices. I bought a spotting scope at Big 5 many years ago and wasted my money. Pony up a little dough (like I shoulda). Your only going to buy this once. It'll last a lifetime.

The Konus Konospot 20-6-x80mm is a really good value for the price-around two bills. I also have an older Bushnell Sentry 15-45x50mm that has really clear optics and works great at 100yds. At 200yds it's still ok. I see them on e-bay for under $100
