budget optics thread

ive done some searching about this and came up with a couple randon threads. im thinkng there should be a thread about budget optics that are actually decent in build,function and price.

i know the value of qaulity optics dont get me wrong but a perfect example is my ruger 10/22. im using a big 5 sale barska 4.5-16x50mm mil dot. its been super reliable. low light,bright light and everything between its clear. never lost zero and ive got it zero'd at 100yrds and it does 3 shot groups inside a dime (pics will be up soon)

now with my new AR build for both me and my wife id like to save a little money on optics and use what i saved towards a new safe.

i have a aimpoint m4 knockoff on my mini 30. bedded in a synthetic stock,muzzle brake and lightweight parts w/solid optic mount ive fired well over 2k rounds and never lost zero. im hitting clay pigeons at 100yrds w/zero issues.

so if you have a decent sight and would like to share,please do. list its make,model,price and how long youve had it.

I've been happy with a BARSKA 1.5-4.5x20, Tactical Mil-Dot Rifle Scope.
Holds zero on .223.

positive: Nice and clear. Reticle doesn't change size with zoom, so it's easier to use for ranging.

Complaints: 1/2MOA clicks are a bit larger than I'd prefer, and the reticle is a bit too fine; it's impossible to see in poor lighting conditions. No turret knobs; you need a screwdriver or key or something to adjust.

I've also got one of those budget bushnell 3-9X rimfire scopes that has worked fine.

Pros: comes with rings (3/8" dovetail). holds zero.

cons: the click adjustments aren't accurate. They're bigger than the 1/4 MOA with which they are labelled.

Finally, I used to have a 3-10x40 from nikko sterling, which sucked. Do not buy.

Pros: when I finally gave up on it, I cut it into pieces and saved the objective bell, which makes an excellent magnifying glass for extreme close work (great for tweezing splinters!)

Cons: wouldn't hold zero, reticle went fuzzy. Wasted years on this piece of junk.

is there a solid 3x or 4x acog clone? the bushnell and barska are all 1x. ive given some thought to the primary arms m4 w/magnifier. both can be had for cheap.

I had a Simmons 22 MAG 3-9X32 AO on my Ruger 10/22 and loved it. Never lost zero.
