Tactical light with switch for AR

Ok so obviously Surefire is a way to go but a semi expensive way!! I am looking for a decent light with a pressure switch for around $50-60? an offset mount would be wonderful but not needed. does anyone have any ideas or know of any great bang for you buck deals on lights?

There are much cheaper plastic body Surefire lights with pressure switch bases that you can use. They're not as durable obviously, but work fine.

Since you want to go the economical route, you'll want to get a universal light mount (there are a great many available) that you slide the light into and clamp it down. The pressure switch is the big rubber button on the back of the light. Set it up so that you can activate it with your thumb - voila! Inexpensive solution.

If you're wanting a low profile pressure switch mounted on your handguards, then it'll cost quite a bit more because you need a model that has a tail cap switch option.

Has anyone used one of these or heard on it before?

if you want a great, inexpensive mount, VTAC makes one. it will fit the surefire G-series.

i offer it in my store here:

I was looking at this more lumens metal body and pressure switch:

Ulzio T-1 Ultrabright CREE LED Flashlight Kit - Weapon Mountable

CREE Q5 LED - Output of 250 lumens
3 Mode Tactical Select: Rapid Strobe, High, Low
Runtime: 90 minutes to 480 (depends on battery type and light mode)
Tactical Strike Bezel and Aircraft Aluminum Body
Complete kit with mount, remote pressure switch, regular switch, holster and batteries

be careful, lumen ratings can be deceiving as they can be inconsistent between different manufacturers.

surefire is a known company with a more than solid track record. i'd take a plastic bodied surefire over 90% of the metal bodied lights from other companies.

Note that the G2 is a slightly larger body than the metal Surefires, like the 6P. Be sure the mount you select is G2 compatible, as many aren't. Also, the basic G2 comes with a twisty tailcap, which isn't tac-friendly, so if you decide you don't like the tape switch, you then need to buy a clicky tailcap, which is a pricey upgrade.

Decent quality tape switches for the G2 cost nearly as much as the light itself, and you're still stuck with a basic, though reliable, light, with a single brightness. My G2 LED lights don't have the greatest color, but they may have fixed that in the year or so since I bought my last one.

If it were me, I'd get a Fenix TK11 with their inexpensive tail switch. You get the plus of a sturdy metal body that fits 6P compatible mounts and dual light modes that are still tactical-friendly, plus a clicky tailswitch in case you decide you don't like the tape switch.

I run a TK11 on my Mossberg Defender (but without the tape switch), and it's held up well through a wide variety of target rounds, buck, and slugs.

I also have G2s and 6Ps, but the TK11's dual brightness makes the difference for me.

                      ETA:
The other downside of the G2/6P with the P60L is that they're not regulated - output drops as the battery gets used up, and their battery life is defined down to a pretty weak level. Fenix and most modern LED lights are regulated, which is important to some people. Surefire has replaced the P60L with the KX4 drop-in/bezel combo, but I haven't been able to find an output chart to see if it's regulated or not.

So I ended up getting that Ulzio T-1 Ultrabright CREE LED Flashlight Kit - Weapon Mountable, I posted above from Amazon.com. It is a very sturdy and extremely bright light!!! The mount is nice and simple and the pressure switch tail also has a manual push button which is great. There are 3 cycles on the light a low beam, strobe, and a high beam. all for less than $65 shipped!!! If you are looking for a cost effective alternative to a surefire I would strongly suggest this ULZIO light!!!

Here is one if you don't mind a used one. Pentagon Light is out of business and you could probably find some great deals on their products. I got mine for less than $60 /w a 5 mw laser and remote switch.

I assume you mean you want the seperate perssure switch pad with a cord that lets you place the on/off functionality away from the light itself?

While that sounds like a thing you would want to have, porfessional operators have gotten away from it.

                              1) You will constantly be turning the light on when you do not want to (which can get you and others killed if used as a duty weapon or self defense weapon).
                              2) They get EXTREMELY hot and are only good for a few seconds before they burn your fingers.
                              3) If something brushes up against them in storage they can catch on fire (always disable your light in storage).
                              3) They are much more failure prone than end cap switches because of their design limitations.
                              4) They add a lot of extra cost and you simply don't have the budget to get a good light, a good switch and a good mount.

So you may want to reconsider your game plan. A surefire 6P or G series light in an offset mount would work better and you would be getting SureFire quality within your budget. My only complaint is the entry level lights come with (or atleast used to come with) pressure switches that make you hold them for the light to sight. I much prefer the click on/off solution that came with my Surefire E2D Light...but it was out of your budget. Click on/off end caps are available as an aftermarket upgrade, however. So if you find you want one down the road when your bank account fills up...you can get one.
