I'm looking to put a red dot on my ar. Any suggestions? I'd like it to be maganified and try to keep it some where between 200-300 bucks. Please let me know what you think. Open to all suggestions links to sights would be great too. Thanks again.

Vortex Strikefire or Primary Arms. You can buy magnifiers for your red dot.

Having the Aimpoint brand of 3x magnif. and having compared with the in-expensive ones, tells one there is no comparison.
Things to think about if you go in-expensive magnif..
      1. You will need to insure your two mounts will allow the Reddot and magnifier are in the same plane. More so, as many of the imitations do not have the ability to adjust the magnifiers if there is any off set.
      2. Eye relief is very poor with the imitators. You get twice as much with the quality ones.
      3. Image quality is again poor.
      4. Generally you need a twist mount, flip to side, or quick release mount for the magnifier. Because of the need for relative careful head placement behind the magnifier, most would not run it dedicated. Too slow to use.
      5. Watch out for some of the cheaper mounts.

I am unaware of anyone making a quality reddot type sight with magnification for that price range. To get something in a varible and powered, I think Millet for that price range. Now you are looking at something more simliar to a standard optic looking vs a typical reddot.
