    Vector Optics vs Leatherwood CMR

    Hey everyone,

With the holidays here and me wanting to put some optics on my rifle, I wanted to seek the advice of some of the more senior shooters on here. I am currently on a bit of a budget and can realistically spend around 350 total.

After posting up in another thread I came around to looking at what I wanted to do, after being referred to Vector by another member on here I found that I could not find much on them review wise where as the CMR had quite a bit of info on it as well as quite a few reviews available. I came to figure that I should seek the advice of those on here that have experience with these platforms.

    The specs are as follows:

    My Rifle:
BCM SPR MK12 mod 1 upper 1/8" twist
    mega lower
    acs stock
    50-500yd shooting

The Leatherwood CMR is a 1-4 x 24mm close to medium range optic

The Vector Optics raptor is a 6-14 x 50mm is more of a medium to long range optic

My question is whether I should bother with the vector optic raptor or just go with the cmr, as much as I am tempted with the cmr, the raptor is in the realm of 130 shipped and would be a place holder till I save up for its real Leupold counterpart. Where as the CMR could potentially be my final optic if it performs the way I would hope.

I realistically want to shoot in the realm of 300yds on average with the ability to go farther if need be. Any thoughts, suggestions, or concerns on either are greatly appreciated. Being on a budget my question realistically is whether going with the Vector optic is worth the try or if I should go with the CMR

Any help is apprecaited, thanks everyone!

So you spent all your $$$ on the rifle and can't afford an optic lol. I can relate to that.

The bushnell 10X40 is 200 bucks, it works well and would fit nicely on top of an SPR upper. Also it is a mil dot reticle with mil mil adjustments. You could also get a leupold mark AR, they aren't that bad and the BDC knob is pretty accurate. After that there is the super sniper 10X and weaver grand slam tactical 3-10. Those are what I would look at.

    Don't buy a vector.

Not that I spent all my cash on it, but more of the savings fund for a Leupold MK4 is being built up, I wanted something to use for the time being that I would be able to pass down onto a carbine build later on down the line
