Just contact Mike at CS Tactical. He's a Calgunner and is THE MAN when it comes to scopes.

Oh...and FWIW, California now tells out of state retailers to charge sales tax on orders originating from out of state being shipped in.

I have a similar scope, but from the Leupold Custom Shop that Mike got for me:

Leupold Mk4 LR/T 4.5-14x40mm w/ TMR reticle. The 40mm objective lens is done especially for Mike. It allows you to mount the scope using lower rings than 50mm with no loss in FOV. You lose a little light gathering, but frankly it's not enough to matter and it didn't hurt making a 1200 yard shot with a 15 degree up angle in 20-30 mph winds on a relatively stock 700 SPS-V in 308 at the Allegheny Sniper Challenge in September 2009.

    It's a solid scope. Like I suggested...contact Mike.

No, the scope is part of the consignment package and therefore no tax.

        Scope...

To each his own. I have a 3-10-40 Mark 4 L/R Tactical duplex. It works ok for me and it's a 1moa scope. With my loads I know that 17 clicks is 800 yards. But I also have my new scope a 5.5X22X56 NPR1 Nightforce. Wow, three shots all in a quarter and the third shot took out the spindle on the shot disk from 200yards. Using 44gr of WCC846 on a 173gr bullet OAL 2.84. I'm happy, and that was with my 700 PSS in .308
        I won't be wronged
        I won't be insulted
And I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.....John Wayne

Well for a couple different reasons, I went down and payed for the whole package today. I figure that I can a) have a scope on my rifle when I first get it. b) might be happy with it as is c) can change reticles down the road and/or d)I only need to sell it for about $600 or better to be "even."

I really do appreciate all the different view points. I've learned a bunch about scopes and am really excited to get the rifle.

Just curious ... WHERE did you buy it?

You mentioned that you "went down" and got it, so I assuming it was "local".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that even a consigned gun purchase was subject to the dealer charging sales tax!
