    Bushnell Elite 3200 vs.Nikon Buckmasters

Picked up my first bolt action in a Remington 700 SPS Tactical. I heard good things about the below scopes, and they are in my price range.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Bushnell Elite 3200 Tactical Rifle Scope 5-15x 40mm Mil-Dot or

Nikon Buckmasters Rifle Scope 4.5-14x 40mm Side Focus Mil-Dot

I am happy with my Bushnell 3200 & 4200 scopes.

The Bushnell has a larger area of view is ever so slightly shorter and lighter than the Nikon. Who has a better warranty?

    and...

Why the Nikon Buckmasters Rifle Scope 4.5-14x 40mm Side Focus Mil-Dot ? Why not the 6-18x 40mm Side Focus Mil-Dot ?

Depends on the rifle's intended use. I actually have a 6.5x20 scope, and I find that 6x is a bit much magnification for staying on a moving target like a deer. 3x seems to be better for that, even at 150 yards. Now, if you're prairie dog hunting at 400 yds, though, then I can see the higher magnification helping out more.

Nikon has the better warranty. And as far as the 4.5-14x 40mm Side Focus Mil-Dot and not the 6-18x. I am honestly not sure which would better fit my needs. It is mostly going to be used for Target shooting, Boar & Small game hunting, and a good rifle to have when **** hits the fan!
