Maybe most of you folks know this, but these micro red dot sights have a Laser Diode that is attached to a elevation/windage plate that is moved by two socket head set screws. There are only a few turns available to zero these sights and if you overturn the screws you bottom out the laser diode and force the adjustment plate so the end result is the diode will shear off the plate and render your red dot un-adjustable.
The symptom of this is when you turn the adjustment screws and the dot doesn't move. This is seen most easily with another light bore sight indicator and red dot operated together.
Most of the companies state in their manuals that they do not cover over-adjustment breakage of their sights.
I've had good luck repairing them, but it is a pain, because all of the parts are really small and you really need to be careful aligning everything up so it fits properly without binding.
I have simply disassembled the sight, removed the elevation/windage plate, cleaned the joining surfaces with a Q-tip and acetone, and re-glued the diode to the plate with a micro amount of thick cyanoacrylate adhesive, and then reassembled.
Long story short...be very carefull turning those windage/elevation screws!
Use the 1-degree shims for large adjustments in elevation.
